- 3PL Third-Party Logistics
- A/B testing A/B testing, also known as split testing, refers to a randomised experimentation process wherein two or more versions of a variable (web page, page element, ads, emails, etc.) are shown to different segments of website visitors at the same time to determine which version leaves the maximum impact and drives business metrics.

- API API is the acronym for Application Programming Interface — a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other.

- Beanstalk A place to store repos that be then manually deploy to customers store
- Bit bucket A place to store repos
- BOFU Bottom-of-the-funnel: The final stage of the customer journey where prospects are ready to make a purchasing decision. BOFU marketing is designed to convert prospects into customers through tactics such as targeted promotions, personalised offers, and clear calls to action.

- BR Bounce rate: The percentage of users who leave a website after viewing only one page
- CCTLD Country code top-level domain
- CLTV Customer Lifetime Value: The total amount of revenue a customer is expected to generate over their lifetime as a customer
- CMS Content Management System
- CPC Cost Per Click: A measure of the cost of each click on a paid advertisement. It is calculated by dividing the total cost of a campaign by the number of clicks it generates.
- CPL Cost per Lead: The total cost of acquiring a lead or potential customer. It is calculated by dividing the total cost of a campaign by the number of leads it generates.
- CPM Cost Per Thousand Impressions: The price an advertiser must pay for every thousand ad impressions.
- CRM Customer Relationship Management
- CRO Conversion Rate Optimisation
- CS Customer/ Client Services
- CSP Content Security Policy, which is, in essence, a layer of security added to a web app
- CTA Call To Action: A prompt that encourages a user to take a specific action, such as "Buy Now" or "Learn More.
- CTR Click Through Rate: The percentage of clicks an ad generates based on the number of times your ad is shown.
- CVR Conversion Rate: The percentage of users who take a desired action on a website, such as making a purchase or filling out a form. It is calculated by dividing the number of conversions by the total number of visitors and multiplying by 100%.
- CX Customer Experience
- D2c Direct to consumer (same as B2C just different acronym)
- DRawer Slides out like a drawer over the web page providing content for the user eg mini basket, currency switcher etc.
- DAP Delivered at Place
- DDP Duty Delivery Paid
- Direct Response Marketing Direct response is a type of marketing that aims to elicit an immediate and measurable response from a target audience. It typically involves a clear call to action and a specific offer or incentive that encourages the audience to take action.
- EAN European Article Number
- Endpoint Endpoint is a point at which an API -- the code that allows two software programs to communicate with each other -- connects with the software program
- EOB End Of Business - same as EOP, just different acronym.
- Eop End Of Play - end of the working day
- ERP Enterprise Resource Planning. It is integrated software used by organisations to manage and automate various business processes, including accounting, human resources, inventory management, and customer relationship management, within a centralised system.

- Hero Banner It's typically the full width section at the top of pages (Homepage, Content pages, Collection, etc)
- HP Homepage (not Harry Potter, sadly)
- HubSpot ID The ID is generated in a system by the sales consultant or Head of PM and allows sales to be tracked for each project or item of ad-hoc work. Retainers will have one HubSpot ID for all ongoing work. Details of which documents and systems to which this ID should be added will be detailed in the relevant guide for that document/system.
- Ipaas Integration Platform as a Service
- Jpeg & PNG These are pixel based image formats which are fixed to a certain width and height. If you try to increase the size beyond this, the resolution/how it looks will be poor and blurry. If a png or jpeg is provided for a logo, please request that it has a transparent background so it can be used anywhere on the site and we don't have issues with it not matching the background colour of say the header.
- KPI Key Performance Indicators: a measurable value that indicates how well a business is achieving its goals.
- Modal A modal (also called a modal window or lightbox) is a web page element that displays in front of and deactivates all other page content. To return to the main content, the user must engage with the modal by completing an action or by closing it.
- Mofu Middle-of-the-funnel: This stage of the customer journey is where prospects have shown interest in a brand or product and are actively researching and considering their options. MOFU marketing focuses on providing more detailed information about a brand or product and building a relationship with the prospect

- MQL Marketing Qualified Leads: A lead that has been identified as having a high potential for conversion based on certain criteria, such as demographics or behaviors.

- PPV Pay per view: PPV is a pricing model used for video ads where advertisers pay each time their ad is viewed by a user.

Pull Request - Pull requests let you tell others about changes you've pushed to a branch in a repository. Once a pull request is opened, you can discuss and review the potential changes with collaborators and add follow-up commits before your changes are merged into the base branch.

Press Release - Production theme A theme specifically used to deploy production code to. Usually used as live theme or to duplicate to create theme to be made live
- Proxy Server A proxy server is a system or router that provides a gateway between users and the internet.
- Remarketing Behavioural retargeting: A marketing strategy that involves targeting users who have previously interacted with a brand or product but did not complete a desired action, such as making a purchase or filling out a form. By showing ads to these users across different platforms and channels, marketers can encourage them to return to the site and complete the desired action.
- Repository or 'Repo' for short A central storage location for software files.
- RICH TEXT EDITOR A rich text editor is a software tool that enables users to format text, add images, and apply various styles (such as bold or italic) without needing to use HTML or other programming languages.
- ROAS Return on Ad Spend: The revenue generated by a campaign divided by the total cost of the campaign. It is typically expressed as a multiple, such as "2x ROAS," meaning that the campaign generated twice the amount spent on it.
- ROI Return on Investment: Revenue generated by a campaign divided by the total cost of the campaign. It is typically expressed as a percentage.
- SAAS Software as a Service
- SEM Search Engine Marketing: A form of online advertising that aims to increase the visibility of a website in search engine results pages.
- SEO Search Engine Optimisation
- Serp Search Engine Results Pages
- Shoppable IG or IG Feed Shoppable Instagram or Instagram Feed
- SMM Social Media Marketing: A form of online advertising that aims to increase the visibility of a brand on social media platforms.
- SOW Scope Of Work or Statement Of Work - Our Discovery will result in a SOW.
- Spec Specification - a detailed scope/ solution to be used as a briefing for the team
- Staging Theme A theme specifically used to deploy staging code for review and approval before be pushed into production
- SVG This is a vector format for images and you can make it any size you want because it's based on a mathematical calculation. It is therefore recommended for logos, to ensure clarity, regardless of the size they appear at. However, please note that Shopify doesn't allow you to upload SVGs for security. Code should not be added to generate an SVG by clients as mistakes within code can happen and potentially break something on the website. An SVG should be passed to a developer and stored in the repo. Only developers can add via the code to ensure there is no javascript in the SVG.

- Tofu (not the food) Top-of-the-funnel: TOFU is the initial stage of the customer journey where potential customers are introduced to a brand or product. TOFU marketing is designed to create brand awareness and attract new prospects.
- TTL Time to Live - it refers to the lifespan of data packets or a domain name system (DNS) record, indicating how long the information is valid or how many hops (routers through which data passes) a packet can traverse before being discarded.

- VTC View Through Conversion: A conversion that occurs after a user views a video ad but doesn't click on it.
- VTR View-through rate: VTR measures the number of viewers who watched an entire video ad divided by the number of impressions, or people exposed to the video. Multiply that number by 100 to get the VTR as a percentage.
- Webhook Webhooks are automated messages sent from apps when something happens.
- WYSIWYG What You See Is What You Get - it's the content editor region in CMS'; what you typically use when creating Standard content pages, Blog articles, Products and Collections' descriptions, etc. Same as the Rich Text Editor.
